Nigeria crowned 2013 FIFA U17 WC Champions

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria defeated Mexico 3-0 to claim their 4th title of the FIFA U17 World Cup.

The game that took place at the Mohammad Bin Zayed stadium saw Kelechi Iheanacho and team captain Musa Muhammed scoring for the West Africans while Mexican midfielder Erick Aguirre netted an own goal.

With four titles, Nigeria become the most successful team in the FIFA U17 World Cup history.

Title defenders Mexico was noted with an impressive start of the game but faced a more determined African side ready to grab the trophy and become one title better than Brazil.

It should be noted that Nigeria have been two times stronger than Mexico in this event after having humiliated them 6-1 in the group stage.

Africa was represented at the FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates by four nations notably Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco and Nigeria.

Kudos to the Golden Eaglets who have made the continent proud.
