The Cheonji Daily previously highlighted the first to 31st World Peace Tour of Chairman Lee Man-hee of the Heavenly Culture World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL). Festus Ejehi Iyere (53), the founder and the Chief editor of online media, Faladepapagaio, has always been interested in peace work. He happened to come upon the operations of HWPL, and they drew his attention. He and HWPL then started working together for world peace.
The following is an interview which was conducted via e-mail with him last month.
◆“The HWPL event is unique... Many participants came together”
Festus has his own definition of peace.
"Peace is the "freedom" of individuals or groups within a community from war, conflict, violence, or terror. I believe it denotes tranquility and peace of mind, freedom from conflict or public commotion, as well as social harmony and agreement."
Festus felt particularly moved by the HWPL's peace event since he had long desired peace.
Festus claimed to have participated in a number of official online events, such as forums and conferences hosted by HWPL, and he added: "I was always motivated to do more for our future generations and for world peace. I felt special that we were one regardless of where we lived, our skin color, or our language.”
In particular, Festus said, "Unlike other events, the HWPL's peace event brings together religious leaders and all individuals of different faiths from different nations, and he added, "I was astonished by the appearance of different participants."
Above all, the person who impressed Festus was chairman Lee.
According to him, "Chairman Lee is a peace-loving individual who dreams of a peaceful world, and HWPL is doing its best to realize that ideal so that our generation can pass on a better peaceful world to future generations. Furthermore, he added, "Chairman Lee is actively participating in conversations with the parties in the country where the disagreement is taking place, and is seeking answers to practically numerous dispute issues.
◆ “Spreading HWPL and chairman Man hee Lee’s speech to the world”
Festus is interested in using the media to spread the message of peace because he is a journalist. Festus offers updates on HWPL activities, and an MOU has been reached between HWPL and Faladepapagaio. He also offers advices on a number of media events.
Festus stated that he felt honored to participate in the internet forums and various peace conferences that Chairman Lee hosted. According to his observations, HWPL is a group that truly and sincerely carries out global concrete peace efforts, educational activities to attain and gatherings and unification related to disputes.
The 8th anniversary of HWPL Peace Day on January 24 received his best HWPL coverage as a journalist.
Festus remembered, "I think all civil society representatives should assess the situation of forced conversion and explore measures to defend 'freedom of faith and human rights' that have become norms of the international community. It was stunning."
Journalists like Festus and roles of them are also very important in achieving world peace.
According to Festus, "the media offers a mechanism to provide warnings and convey feelings beforehand to enable more effective response in times of crisis." It can serve in a variety of capacities as a peace messenger to foster understanding between individuals and organizations and to avert violent confrontations.
